On April 19, 2008 the Tri-County Amateur Radio Club will host a one day Ham Cram/Exam Session beginning at 8 AM at the Delphos Senior Citizens' Center, 301 E Suthoff St Delphos, OH. Click here for a map and directions.
This is an 8 hour class followed by the exam. The class will break for one hour at noon for lunch (Not Provided). This class will teach interested persons what is needed to pass the Technician Level exam. There is no required reading however it is recommended that prospective students obtain a Technician Level amateur radio license manual and read through it prior to the day of the class. The instructor does not teach to a certian book but recommends "The ARRL Ham Radio License Manual" by The ARRL or " Technician Study Manual 2006-2010" by Gordon West. The class is free and open to the public however the exam costs $14.
Students are requested to bring two forms of ID of which one should be a legal photo ID. Other forms of ID include: Non-photo ID/driver's license (some states still have them): Social Security Card; Birth certificate (must have the appropriate seal); Minor's work permit, school report card, school ID card or library card; Utility bill, bank statement or other business correspondence that specifically names the person; or Postmarked envelope addressed to the person at his or her current mailing address.
